Trump Claims Google Refused to Rename Atlantic Ocean
President Donald Trump said that Sundar Pichai, chief executive of Google, declined his request to rename the Atlantic Ocean on Google Maps, a claim he made during a rally in South Carolina. Trump asserted that he had called Pichai to discuss the change, but the request was turned down. Earlier reports noted that Trump told reporters he had spoken with Pichai about the rename and that Google cited the ocean’s multinational nature as the reason for refusing to alter the map label.
