Orionid Meteor Shower Peaks with Clear Skies Across Central US
FOX 4 News Dallas-Fort Worth reported that the Orionid meteor shower peaked on the night of Oct 21-22, delivering up to 20 meteors per hour under clear skies across much of the United States. Earlier, The Weather Channel had forecast clear-sky conditions for the central and eastern United States while warning of cloud and rain threats in the Rockies, Southwest, West Coast and parts of the Northeast. CNN added that a waxing gibbous moon could have reduced visibility for part of the viewing window.
