Video of Mississippi infant shooting released, civil-rights lawyers demand federal probe
Civil-rights lawyers, led by attorney Ben Crump, called for a federal investigation after video of the shooting of one-year-old Kohen Wiley by a Senatobia police officer was released, following the Mississippi attorney general’s declaration that the officer’s use of force was justified. The Mississippi attorney general had earlier concluded that the officer was justified in firing at Wiley’s vehicle during a shoplifting response, a finding contested by the victim’s family and civil-rights advocates.
