The Economic Times later cited unverified claims that Kim Jong Un had died, that his sister Kim Yo-jong had assumed power, and that 9,000 Chinese troops were deployed to Pyongyang. Snopes noted that fact-checking organizations could not locate any credible evidence supporting the death reports.
