NFL and Steelers cancel Paris fan event over security concerns
The National Football League and the Pittsburgh Steelers announced the cancellation of a planned fan gathering in Paris after recent protests raised security concerns, while preparations for the Week 7 game at Stade de France remain on schedule. Earlier, the league said preparations for the Steelers-Saints matchup at Stade de France were proceeding despite the unrest, and former quarterback Boomer Esiason warned the game could exacerbate the protests. The New Orleans Saints arrived in Paris for the contest, and Commissioner Roger Goodell said the league received security assurances from U.
S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
