A 54-year-old Greek mother, Cristina Rapti-Tzelepi, gave birth to a baby girl in Athens on 9 September, using an embryo that had been frozen for 22 years, according to WPTZ. The delivery took place shortly before Greece’s legal age limit for IVF procedures expired. Earlier reporting by The Independent described the same birth and noted that the couple, whose son had died in a traffic accident months earlier, had pursued the frozen-embryo option.
