U. S. Coast Guard officials said the four members of a Florida family were recovered dead on September 8, after their Piper PA-34 vanished near Andros Island, Bahamas, on September 7. The bodies were located by search teams that included family volunteers.

The aircraft, carrying two seniors and their two adult grandchildren, had lost contact prompting a joint search by the U. S. Coast Guard, the Royal Bahamian Defense Force and Bahamas police. Initial reports described the four as missing.
