Capital One defends 2021 closure of Trump accounts over AML concerns
Capital One disclosed that it closed President Donald Trump's accounts in 2021 after its anti-money-laundering team flagged activity resembling money laundering, and the bank is seeking dismissal of the related lawsuit in the United States. Earlier, the bank said the closure of more than 300 Trump Organization accounts was driven by anti-money-laundering analysis and that it would fight the lawsuit alleging political bias.
