Sausalito City Manager Arrested on Burglary Suspicion, Later Consents to Psychiatric Evaluation
Saulito city manager Elaine Forbes was arrested on suspicion of burglary after police found her on a yacht at the Sausalito Yacht Harbor. Marin Independent Journal reported that she was booked on a felony burglary allegation shortly after taking office. CBS News noted the arrest came days after the city council approved a leave of absence, and the council placed her on administrative leave.
ABC7 Bay Area and the Los Angeles Times added that the yacht was not hers and that the incident occurred early in the morning. Later, the New York Post reported that Forbes agreed to undergo a psychiatric evaluation after the charges were reduced to misdemeanors related to the marina incident.
