US recalls nearly 30,000 pounds of Argentine raw beef in Florida and Texas

Summary

Corte Argentino USA LLC is recalling 29,628 pounds of raw beef imported from Argentina after the shipments failed to undergo required USDA reinspection, affecting retailers in Florida and Texas.

Corte Argentino USA LLC announced a recall of 29,628 pounds of raw beef that entered the United States from Argentina without completing the mandatory import reinspection. The affected shipments, produced between May 15 and May 20, 2026, bear use-or-freeze-by dates from September 15 to September 20, 2026, and were distributed to retailers in Florida and Texas.

The recalled items include various cuts labeled as “Top Sirloin Butt,” “Eye Round,” “Topside Cap Off,” “Flat,” and “Knuckle,” all packaged in cardboard boxes marked with the Argentine establishment number EST. N° OF. 2025 and shipping mark 26644-AA.

USDA officials explained that after a shipment clears U.S. Customs and Border Protection and APHIS requirements, it must be reinspected by the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). The reinspection verifies documentation, labeling, packaging, product condition, and may involve sampling for contaminants. The oversight was identified during routine FSIS inspections.

Consumers who may have purchased the recalled beef are advised to check their packaging for the listed identifiers and contact the retailer for a refund or disposal instructions.
