USDA recalls nearly 30,000 pounds of Argentine beef over missed inspection

Summary

The Food Safety and Inspection Service announced a Class I recall of about 29,600 pounds of raw beef imported from Argentina after it entered the United States without a required inspection.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a Class I recall for roughly 29,628 pounds of raw beef imported from Argentina. The meat, produced between May 15 and May 20, 2026, was distributed to retailers in Florida and Texas and bears the Argentine establishment number "EST. N° OF. 2025" and shipping mark "26644-AA."

The recall covers several cuts, including top sirloin butt, eye round, topside cap off, flat and knuckle, packaged in various weight cardboard boxes labeled as "FrigorIfico Gorina SAIC" products. The agency discovered the issue during routine inspection activities and classified the recall as a health hazard because the product could cause serious illness or death if consumed.

FSIS advises consumers who may have purchased the affected beef not to eat it, to discard it or return it to the place of purchase. No illnesses have been reported linked to the recalled products.
