Apple has agreed to a $250 million settlement in a class-action lawsuit over false advertising of Siri's AI capabilities, potentially compensating eligible iPhone owners with payments ranging from $25 to $95 per device.

Apple has agreed to a $250 million settlement to resolve a class-action lawsuit alleging false advertising of its Siri voice assistant's artificial intelligence capabilities. The lawsuit claimed that Apple promoted advanced AI features for Siri that were not available at the time of the iPhone 16's release in 2024, misleading consumers into purchasing the devices.

The settlement covers approximately 37 million devices purchased in the United States between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025, including all iPhone 16 models and the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Eligible owners may receive a payment of at least $25 per device, with the amount potentially increasing up to $95 depending on the number of claims filed and other factors.

Apple stated that the settlement resolves claims regarding two unavailable features and reaffirmed its commitment to innovation. The company has introduced some AI features; however, Siri's enhanced capabilities have faced delays, lagging behind competitors like Google and Samsung. Apple is now expected to unveil the long-delayed Siri upgrades at its annual developer conference.

Customers will be notified by email or mail about how to file a claim on a settlement website. The settlement must still receive final approval from the court.
