Ken Urker, the father of Gypsy Rose Blanchard's daughter, died on his 34th birthday at a residence in Raceland, Louisiana. The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office said officers responded to a call at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday and found Urker deceased at the address. Authorities said a death investigation is ongoing and the cause of death has not yet been released.

"Ken was an amazing father and a man who was deeply loved. He will forever be my soulmate and my red string, a connection that time, distance, and even death can never erase," Blanchard told People. "Above all, Ken loved our daughter, Aurora. She is a beautiful reflection of his enduring spirit, and through her, a part of him will always remain with us."

Blanchard, who served time for her role in her mother’s murder, first met Urker in 2017 when he began writing her letters while she was incarcerated. Their correspondence led to a marriage proposal during a prison visit in 2018, though they later separated. After Blanchard’s release, she married Ryan Anderson in 2022; the couple later split in 2024. Blanchard and Urker reunited and welcomed their daughter, Aurora Raina Urker, in December 2024. It is not known whether the couple remained together at the time of Urker’s death.

The television series "Gypsy Rose: Life After Lockup" has documented Blanchard’s transition to life outside prison, including her relationships and parenthood.
