Elderly Dublin couple arrested in fatal shooting of son-in-law
Police in Dublin, California, arrested a 77-year-old married couple after their 40-year-old son-in-law was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds in a parking lot near a local sports field.
Dublin police said a sergeant driving near the Dublin Sports Grounds discovered a man lying in the parking lot on Saturday afternoon and called for backup. The victim, identified as 40-year-old Jonathan McKinsey, had been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A witness reported that a man and a woman, both wearing masks, fired at the victim, with the man handing the firearm to the woman who also shot. Officers later detained two nearby individuals, identified as 77-year-old Shouyong Zhang and 77-year-old Shili Chen, both Dublin residents.
Police said the couple are McKinsey's parents-in-law and have been booked on suspicion of murder at Santa Rita Jail. Authorities indicated there are no remaining suspects and no ongoing threat to public safety while the investigation continues. The pair are scheduled for arraignment on Wednesday.
