Canva to cut 22% of workforce, offering $10,000 severance grant
Canva said it would restructure its workforce in Sydney, cutting 1,271 jobs and providing at least six months' salary, healthcare, career assistance and a $10,000 grant to departing employees, according to India Today. Earlier reports said the cuts would affect about 22% of the company's global staff as growth slowed and AI expenses rose. Fox Business noted the slowdown in growth and evolving technology trends as the backdrop for the reorganization.
NDTV added that the severance package would include six months' pay, retained MacBooks and a year of LinkedIn Premium. TechCrunch cited the slowdown and rising AI costs as reasons for the layoffs.
