Rena Lee elected as first Singaporean judge to ICJ
Ambassador Rena Lee was elected to the International Court of Justice in The Hague, becoming the first Singaporean and first Southeast Asian woman to serve on the 15-member bench, officials said. Singapore had earlier nominated Lee, a veteran diplomat and international-law specialist, as its candidate for the Asian seat on the court, marking the country's first bid for an ICJ seat.
