Gunfire Hits Rafah Displacement Camp, UN Warns of Escalating Displacement
On 4 November, gunfire damaged several tents at a Rafah displacement camp in northern Gaza, injuring civilians and forcing a humanitarian partner to pull its teams, UN officials said, urging protection for civilians and aid workers as winter storms approach. The incident follows earlier warnings and attacks. On 29 October, the UN human rights office warned that Israeli military expansion was repeatedly displacing Palestinians and could amount to a war crime.
Al Jazeera reported that Israeli strikes the previous killed at least four Palestinians, including a teacher in Nuseirat refugee camp. UN agencies have also said that, six months after the ceasefire, civilian casualties, widespread displacement and severe shortages of food, shelter and medical supplies persist across Gaza.
