Hindustan Times launches hourly air-quality dashboard for Delhi region
The Hindustan Times launched an hourly air-quality dashboard for the Delhi region on 3 November, aggregating government pollution data, weather information and farm-fire counts and providing updates for Delhi and surrounding cities. Earlier, on 28 October, NDTV reported that overnight rain had lowered temperatures and improved air quality in Delhi and nearby Uttar Pradesh.
Later in the week, Hindustan Times reported that the Air Quality Index rose to 261, classified as “poor”, and then surpassed 300, marking the first “very poor” reading of the season. The Commission for Air Quality Management subsequently activated Stage II of the Graded Response Action Plan across the National Capital Region, imposing road sweeping, water sprinkling and stricter dust and vehicular controls.
