Everton and Newcastle prepare for Premier League clash after cup win
Everton manager David Moyes and Newcastle coach Matthias Jaissle discussed tactics ahead of their Premier League meeting at St James’ Park on 2 November, according to the clubs' statements. The meeting follows Everton's 3-1 victory over Newcastle in the Carabao Cup fourth round at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on 1 November, which secured Everton a place in the quarter-finals.
Earlier in the week, Moyes omitted midfielder Jack Grealish from the cup squad after the player missed a training session, and the club also left him out of the traveling party for the upcoming league game. Everton had previously announced their starting line-up for the cup tie, while Newcastle confirmed their squad under Jaissle's direction.
