La Alianza Nacional de Desarrollo Inclusivo de la India realizó un impeachment simbólico del Comisionado Electoral Jefe Gyanesh Kumar en Nueva Delhi el 31 de octubre, acusándolo de manipular el proceso electoral y exigiendo su destitución. El evento había sido programado inicialmente para el 23 de octubre en la residencia del presidente del Congreso, Mallikarjun Kharge, con la ex presidenta de la Lok Sabha, Meira Kumar, como moderadora, pero se le negó permiso para usar otros lugares.

Las fuertes lluvias obligaron al bloque a posponer la sesión de tres horas, anuncio hecho por Rahul Gandhi, quien también advirtió al BJP que el comisionado no permanecería en el cargo y prometió revelar más detalles. El BJP desestimó el impeachment, calificándolo de espectáculo teatral que burla la democracia.
