Astronomers Identify New Dwarf-Planet Candidate 2026 ED138 Beyond Pluto
Astronomers using the Vera C. Rubin Observatory said they have identified a distant object, designated 2026 ED138, that may qualify as a new dwarf planet in the outer solar system. Earlier reports from Yahoo Tech, CNA, ABC17NEWS, Space and Mirage News described the same finding, noting that the trans-Neptunian body was detected in data from the Rubin Observatory in Chile and could join the International Astronomical Union’s list of dwarf planets pending further measurements.
