Catholic bishops regret White House prayer meeting with President Trump
Two U. S.
Catholic bishops said their October meeting with President Donald Trump in the Oval Office was intended to be a private prayer session and not a political endorsement, after images of the encounter were released. Archbishop Jeffrey Grob later said the bishops had been placed in a political setting without their consent and expressed regret, while Bishop William Joensen also voiced remorse, noting that the White House video had been posted ahead of the November midterm elections.
