Harry Kane awarded 2026 Men’s Ballon d’Or in London
Harry Kane was presented with the 2026 men’s Ballon d’Or at the London Palladium on 26 October, The Guardian reported. The ceremony, held on 26 October, also honoured clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain and FC Barcelona and presented awards for coaches and humanitarian work, USA Today noted. Ahead of the event, Racing Post said Kane led betting odds, with Kylian Mbappé and Lamine Yamal among the contenders.
BBC highlighted Kane’s record-breaking season of 61 club goals, while The Straits Times added that he scored 73 goals in all competitions. NPR and The Hindu both pointed out that Kane became the first English player to win the Ballon d’Or since 2001, and that Spain’s Alexia Putellas secured her third women’s award.
