Giants start quarterback review after McCarthy’s fourth-quarter rally
Head coach John Harbaugh said on 19 October that the New York Giants have begun a review of their quarterback options after J. J. McCarthy sparked a 269-yard fourth-quarter rally in the 34-27 loss to the New Orleans Saints.
The Giants erased a 24-point deficit in the fourth quarter, but the Saints held on for the win on 16 October. Earlier in the game, Harbaugh had replaced Jameis Winston with McCarthy after Winston threw two interceptions, prompting the team to reassess both quarterback and running-back roles. The defeat coincided with the Cleveland Browns moving into a tie for first place in the AFC North.
