Mark Ruffalo’s Video Message Featured at Macklemore’s Dublin Free Palestine Concert
Actor Mark Ruffalo’s prerecorded video urging support for Palestinian rights was shown during Macklemore’s concert in Dublin on 22 October, Yahoo reported on 28 October. The show opened the rapper’s three-city Free Palestine benefit tour and also featured performances by Hozier, Kneecap and other Irish artists, with Julian Casablancas and other celebrities appearing in person or via video, Yahoo said.
Macklemore launched the tour after being removed from Ed Sheeran’s Loop Tour over his pro-Palestine remarks, a move that prompted criticism from Jack Antonoff, who accused Sheeran of yielding to billionaire pressure, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Earlier, the rapper used his Red Rocks Amphitheatre performance on 22 October to call for a free Palestine and highlight other global crises, Billboard noted.
