Madison Square Garden Sports distributes $3.7 million in rings after phishing drill
Madison Square Garden Sports, the parent company of the New York Knicks, is distributing more than 275 championship rings and jewelry valued at over $3. 7 million after a phishing-simulation email offered free rings to staff, NBC News reported.
The distribution follows a phishing drill earlier this month in which the Knicks sent a simulated email promising free championship rings to employees, a test that was turned into a mandatory cybersecurity lesson, Yahoo Sports said. The rings are slated for players, coaches, staff and affiliates, including owner James Dolan, commissioner Adam Silver and former Knicks star Walt Frazier.
