Colts fire GM Chris Ballard, turn to Peyton Manning for replacement
The Indianapolis Colts terminated general manager Chris Ballard on 19 October after a loss to the Tennessee Titans, and the team said it is consulting Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning about candidates for the vacant position. The decision came as the club fell to a 2-5 record. Ballard had been dismissed earlier in the week; owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon announced on 18 October that the GM was fired following a 1-5 start, and later reports cited a 2-4 record as the trigger for the change.
