Deadline said the film opened to $3. 5 million in preview screenings, and Variety noted a $10.

4 million haul, setting a weekend forecast of $20-$35 million. Deadline later added that "Clayface" generated $43 million worldwide, marking a second consecutive #1 weekend for the Skydance-Warner Bros. venture. The same weekend also saw other releases such as Laika's "Wildwood" debut according to Variety.
