Résumé

Two claims were partially confirmed: that Russian President Vladimir Putin identified Stephen Hubbard as a 74-year-old American on October 21, 2026, and that a 74-year-old American detainee in Russia was released and flown to the United States after President Trump’s envoy met Putin in St. Petersburg on the same date. One claim, that President Trump told reporters on October 20, 2026, he asked Putin to free Stephen James Hubbard, had insufficient evidence.
