Netflix posts Q3 profit, cuts 1,000 jobs, trims ad revenue forecast
Netflix reported its third-quarter results on October 20, posting $12. 87 billion in revenue and $3. 66 billion in net income while confirming a 1,000-person layoff and a reduced advertising-revenue outlook, from its Los Gatos, California headquarters.
The company said the restructuring follows a 6% workforce reduction announced earlier in the month and a leadership change that saw Peter Rice replace Bela Bajaria as chief content officer. Analysts had noted the layoffs, slower subscriber growth and mixed revenue forecasts in the weeks leading up to the earnings release, and they expected the ad-sales guidance to be trimmed.
