Trump praises Ohio senator’s physique, jokes about Nicki Minaj at Michigan rally
President Donald Trump praised Ohio Senator Jon Husted’s athletic build and quipped about rapper Nicki Minaj while addressing supporters at a Michigan rally for Senate candidate Mike Rogers on October 25, drawing cheers from the crowd, according to The Guardian. The remarks were delivered to a largely Republican audience in the state’s western region. Earlier, CNN reported that Trump highlighted Husted’s physique at a rural GOP gathering, prompting jokes from fellow Republicans.
PBS and Rolling Stone later described the president’s habit of commenting on the appearance of candidates and male supporters at campaign events. After the rally, Husted told The Independent that Trump’s comments motivated him to concentrate more on his fitness.
