Ben Simmons suffers Achilles tear, ending Kings season
The Sacramento Kings announced that forward Ben Simmons suffered a torn right Achilles tendon during a practice drill, ending his 2025-26 season and requiring surgery. Earlier reports from NBC Sports, CBS Sports and NBA. com said the injury would keep him out for the entire 2026-27 season.
The injury occurred on October 18, and the team confirmed the news on October 19, 2026. The tear halted the Kings' preseason optimism and forced the team to adjust its roster plans for the remainder of the campaign.
