Driver released as DA launches review of Wichita soccer crash
The Sedgwick County district attorney said a review of the Oct. 17 crash at Wichita’s Stryker Sports Complex will be conducted after the driver was released without charges, KWCH reported.
Police said a black pickup truck entered a youth soccer game, killing a six-year-old boy and a 35-year-old man and wounding ten to eleven spectators; the incident was classified as a Level 3 mass-casualty event. The 34-year-old driver was taken into custody at the scene, but later released pending test results, and the sheriff’s office clarified that Deputy Rachel Taylor was not the driver.
