Cleveland. com reported that Ohio State coach Ryan Day said the Buckeyes are evaluating freshman Luke Fahey and transfer Tavien St.  Clair as potential starting quarterbacks following Julian Sayin's season-ending shoulder injury.

The injury occurred during Ohio State's 19-15 win over Indiana on 17 October in Bloomington, where Sayin left the game with a right-arm injury, CBS Sports reported. Subsequent reports from ESPN and 247Sports indicated that Sayin would miss the remainder of the season and that Fahey was expected to start, while CBS Sports later noted that the loss of Sayin jeopardized Ohio State's College Football Playoff prospects.
