Eagles add former Cowboys quarterback Joe Milton to active roster
The Philadelphia Eagles signed 26-year-old quarterback Joe Milton, who previously spent time with the Dallas Cowboys, to their 53-man roster.
Philadelphia announced the signing of quarterback Joe Milton to its active roster. Milton, a 2024 sixth-round draft pick, previously served as a backup for the Dallas Cowboys, where he appeared in limited action during the 2024 season.
Milton entered the NFL after being selected in the sixth round of the 2024 draft and spent his rookie year on the Cowboys' practice squad before being promoted to the active roster for a brief appearance in Week 18. In that game he completed 15 of 24 passes for 183 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions, and added 45 rushing yards on four carries.
The Eagles said the move adds depth at the quarterback position behind starter Jalen Hurts. Milton is expected to compete for a backup role and could see playing time if injuries arise.
Milton’s contract details were not disclosed. He will join the Eagles as they prepare for the upcoming season.
