Rams promote Blake Grupe after releasing Harrison Mevis
Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay said the blocked 48-yard field-goal attempt in overtime against Buffalo probably would have missed, and announced that veteran kicker Blake Grupe has been promoted to replace Harrison Mevis. The Rams had waived second-year placekicker Harrison Mevis after the blocked attempt in the overtime loss to the Bills, according to USA Today.
Earlier, the team added former New York Jets practice-squad player Blake Grupe, as reported by NFL. com, to address recent special-teams struggles.
