Caleb Williams set to start for Bears vs. Falcons on Oct. 13
Quarterback Caleb Williams was slated to start for the Chicago Bears against the Atlanta Falcons on October 13, after missing three games with a hamstring injury. The decision was confirmed on October 17. Coach Ben Johnson first said Williams was nearing a return after the Bears’ loss to Green Bay and later indicated the quarterback could be ready for the Week 6 matchup with Atlanta.
During his rehab, Williams posted a John Wick-themed Instagram photo and subsequently said he was still awaiting medical clearance and a stress test before knowing if he could play. Subsequent reports said he was expected and likely to start after completing full practice.
