Six Flags Magic Mountain announced on September 30 that it would permanently close the X2 roller coaster after multiple lawsuits and a state safety investigation linked the ride to serious brain injuries. The decision ends operations at the Valencia, California park.

Earlier, CNN reported the park’s decision to shut down X2 following an investigation that uncovered several serious injuries and deaths associated with the coaster. Fox Business later noted that the closure came amid ongoing lawsuits alleging riders suffered severe brain trauma.
