Bryan Seaver, Dolly Parton's Nephew, Dismissed from Security Role

Summary

Bryan Seaver, who served as head of security for Dolly Parton's estate, was terminated on Sept. 16, with his company replaced by new guards, and he has accused the estate's manager of acting in bad faith.

Bryan Seaver, the nephew of the late country music star Dolly Parton, received a termination notice on Sept. 16 ending his role as head of security for the singer's properties, according to a report. The notice indicated that the DP Dean Trust, which oversees Parton's assets, had dismissed Seaver and his security firms, and that replacement personnel have already taken over the Nashville residences, museum and warehouse.

In a statement to the media outlet that first reported the dismissal, Seaver said he and his teams were "dismayed by the unexpected and, so far, unexplained actions" taken by longtime manager Danny Nozell and Pinnacle Bank, which manage the trust. He added that they remain committed to protecting Parton's family and accused the actions of being taken "in bad faith and with the intent to profit".

Parton died on Aug. 25 at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center after a brief illness. Seaver, the son of Parton's sister Cassie, announced her death in a video posted to social media. Representatives for Parton's estate issued a statement praising her charitable work and legacy.

USA TODAY contacted Seaver's security company and Danny Nozell for comment but did not receive a response.
