Security chief and Dolly Parton’s nephew removed from estate duties after singer’s death
Bryan Seaver, who managed security for Dolly Parton’s properties for more than 20 years, was dismissed from his role shortly after the star’s death, prompting him to question the motives behind the change.
Bryan Seaver, the nephew of the late country singer Dolly Parton, was terminated from his long-standing security position overseeing her Nashville residence, museum, warehouse and downtown home, according to reports. The dismissal was communicated last week and new security staff have since been installed at the properties. Seaver, who had managed the estate’s security for over two decades and announced Parton’s death publicly, said he and his team were surprised by the “unexpected and, so far, unexplained actions” taken after the singer’s passing. He suggested the changes might be financially motivated, stating, "We remain unshakably resolved to fulfill (Parton’s) final directive to protect her family, and we refuse to be intimidated by those whose actions we believe are being taken in bad faith and with the intent to profit from the life of someone who willingly gave so much." The termination does not affect Seaver’s personal interest in the Parton family trust, which holds the singer’s business and real-estate assets. Parton died at age 80 after a private battle with cancer and was buried in Nashville.
