Apple rolls out release candidates for iPadOS 27, watchOS 27 and other operating systems
Apple has made the release-candidate builds of iPadOS 27, watchOS 27, iOS 27, macOS Golden Gate, tvOS 27 and visionOS 27 available for developers and public beta testers ahead of the public launch scheduled for September 14.
Apple announced that the release-candidate (RC) versions of its upcoming operating systems are now available for testing. The RC builds include iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS Golden Gate, watchOS 27, tvOS 27 and visionOS 27, and are being distributed to developers and public beta participants via the Software Update settings on their devices.
The company indicated that these RC versions represent the final software that will be shipped to all users on Monday, September 14, unless critical issues are discovered that would require a second RC build. Apple typically releases RC builds shortly after its September product event, where additional features not revealed at the June WWDC conference are often disclosed.
Users are encouraged to install the RC updates to evaluate new functionality and report any problems before the official rollout.
