Stella Parton calls for end to AI tributes after sister's death
Stella Parton asked fans to stop sharing AI-generated songs, images and videos of her late sister Dolly Parton, saying the material shows a lack of compassion for grieving families, on 8 September at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Nashville. She had earlier urged compassion after AI-generated posts and critical tweets surfaced following Dolly Parton's death on 4 September, condemning the proliferation of deepfakes.
President Donald Trump also posted an AI illustration that linked himself to the singer, adding to the controversy. The family’s grief was amplified by the rapid spread of AI-created tributes, prompting Stella Parton to publicly request that fans refrain from further distribution of such content.
