Modder Uses MGPU Bridge Add-On to Offload DLSS 5 Neural Rendering to a Second RTX 5060 Ti

Résumé

A ReShade add-on called MGPU Bridge enables DLSS 5 neural rendering to run on a second RTX 5060 Ti, restoring or improving frame rates in tested games, though the method is limited to DirectX 12 titles and requires two RTX 50-series GPUs and monitors.

A modder has demonstrated that the MGPU Bridge ReShade add-on can split the workload of NVIDIA's DLSS 5 Neural Rendering across two GeForce RTX 5060 Ti GPUs. In the configuration, the primary card renders the game while the secondary card processes the neural rendering pass, with the final frame displayed on a monitor connected to the second GPU.

Testing in the action-RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker at 1080p showed that running DLSS 5 on the primary GPU dropped performance from 67-70 fps to 44 fps in DLAA mode. Offloading the neural rendering to the second card restored the original 67-70 fps range. In Performance mode, the same offload increased frame rates from 59 fps to roughly 107 fps. Similar gains were observed in Cyberpunk 2077.

The setup also reduced GPU temperatures by about 21 °C, according to the developer. The solution works only with DirectX 12 games, requires two RTX 50-series GPUs, and each GPU must be connected to its own monitor. It is not compatible with RTX 40-series or older hardware, and the developer has not tested mixed-model RTX 50 configurations.

"MGPU Bridge basically divides the workloads between two GPUs, letting the first card render the game and the second card executing the Neural Rendering," the developer explained.

The project remains experimental and is distributed via a public GitHub repository.
