Timberwolves trade for Cody Williams, clear cap space for Kuminga deal
Bleacher Report said the Minnesota Timberwolves traded veteran wing Josh Green to the Utah Jazz for forwards Cody Williams and John Konchar, then waived Konchar to free salary-cap space for Jonathan Kuminga’s two-year, $12 million contract, on 29 August. The move follows Kuminga’s signing earlier in the week. The New York Times reported that the 23-year-old forward agreed to a two-year, $12 million deal with Minnesota, a contract he accepted after turning down a larger offer from the Los Angeles Lakers, as detailed by other outlets.
