Teen son of former 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' star charged with felony sexual offenses
Fifteen-year-old KJ Biermann, the son of reality-TV personality Kim Zolciak, has been arrested and charged as an adult with aggravated sexual battery and aggravated sodomy under Georgia's SB440 law.
Fifteen-year-old KJ Biermann was arrested in Alpharetta, Georgia, and charged on Aug. 17 with two felony counts: aggravated sexual battery and aggravated sodomy. Under Georgia's SB440 law, teenagers aged 13 to 17 accused of certain violent felonies are tried in adult courts. Biermann is being held without bond at the Metro Regional Youth Detention Center while awaiting a preliminary hearing scheduled for September.
His mother, former "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Kim Zolciak, issued a statement denying the allegations. > "The allegations being made against my son are nothing short of reckless and deeply troubling," she said, adding that he "categorically denies ever being involved with this woman or engaging in the conduct she has alleged."
Zolciak said her son voluntarily took a polygraph test and passed, and that DNA testing found no trace of his DNA. She also noted that the accuser has made similar claims involving two other individuals, suggesting the need for careful examination. > "False accusations can have devastating consequences not only for the person being accused, but also for genuine survivors of sexual assault and abuse," she said, urging that allegations be investigated based on facts and evidence.
The family, which includes Biermann's siblings Kash, Kaia and Kane, and adopted sisters Ariana and Brielle, filed for divorce in 2023 after 11 years of marriage.
