O'Donnell’s animosity toward Trump dates back to 2006, when she called him a “snake oil salesman” on The View. Trump has responded over the years with derogatory remarks and, according to O'Donnell, threatened her U.S. citizenship in 2025. She described him as “everything that is wrong with America.”
