Megyn Kelly Criticizes Jimmy Kimmel's Choice of Rosie O'Donnell as Guest Host
Conservative commentator Megyn Kelly denounced Jimmy Kimmel's selection of Rosie O'Donnell as a guest host, accusing the comedian of promoting election denialism.
Conservative talk-show host Megyn Kelly used her SiriusXM program on Monday to criticize Jimmy Kimmel’s decision to have Rosie O'Donnell fill in as a guest host later this summer. Kimmel had announced a lineup of rotating guest hosts, including Tiffany Haddish, Colman Domingo, Ike Barinholtz, Anthony Anderson and Jelly Roll, and added that O'Donnell would appear as a "special treat for our commander-in-chief," referencing President Donald Trump.
Kelly questioned the choice, suggesting that Kimmel was selecting "left-wing comedians" he perceived as less popular. She played a clip from a recent interview in which O'Donnell told CNN’s former chief White House correspondent that she believed former Vice President Kamala Harris had won the 2020 election and that evidence would emerge to support that view.
"I think Kamala won. I do. And I think that we’re going to find all this out," O'Donnell said in the segment.
Kelly suggested that O'Donnell’s past comments could appear on Kimmel’s show, noting that the program had recorded its most-watched season in eight years for the 2025-2026 television year.
The exchange follows a history of public disputes between Kelly and O'Donnell, including a 2018 exchange on Twitter. Kimmel is expected to resume his duties in early September.
