Sen. Jon Ossoff Criticizes Trump Aide Natalie Harp as ‘Security Blanket’
Senator Jon Ossoff accused White House aide Natalie Harp of serving as a personal comfort for President Donald Trump, while Trump responded with a personal insult toward the senator.
Senator Jon Ossoff said the Trump administration relies on a small group of aides, including Natalie Harp, to provide the former president with reassurance and praise. Speaking in Atlanta, Ossoff described Harp as part of Trump’s “security blanket” that makes him feel good about himself. He added that Trump prefers to focus on personal projects rather than governing, saying, “He doesn’t want to do the job. He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace, gifted by the Emir of Qatar.”
Trump reacted to Ossoff’s remarks by calling the senator a “Pee-wee Herman look-alike,” without addressing Harp directly. The White House also targeted the journalist who asked the question, posting a harsh comment on social media that was later condemned by the news outlet as an attack on press freedom.
Harp has been highlighted in reporting as a close aide who drafts and posts Trump’s social-media messages, a role that earned her the nickname “human printer” during the 2024 campaign. Critics say she supplies Trump with favorable information, sometimes sourced from questionable outlets, and that she accompanied him on a secret flight out of Turkey in 2024.
Ossoff, who is seeking re-election to the Senate against Rep. Mike Collins, has dismissed speculation that he might run for president in 2028, emphasizing his focus on the current campaign.
