Sen. Jon Ossoff Criticizes President Trump's Relationship with Aide Natalie Harp at Atlanta Rally
Georgia Senator Jon Ossoff used a rally in Atlanta to question President Donald Trump's focus on his duties, highlighting the president's frequent travel with White House aide Natalie Harp.
Georgia Senator Jon Ossoff addressed a crowd in Atlanta on Sunday, accusing President Donald Trump of neglecting his responsibilities while emphasizing the president's close association with White House aide Natalie Harp. Ossoff said the president "sleeps through his meetings, golfs and trades stocks" and suggested that Trump prefers to travel with Harp on a private aircraft reportedly gifted by the Emir of Qatar. The remarks came as Trump returned to Washington after a weekend trip to a New Jersey golf course, during which he flew with Harp on an Air Force One aircraft.
Harp, 35, has been a frequent companion to Trump, and her brother has described the bond as "very unhealthy." A recently published book by journalists Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan notes that Trump once told his staff Harp was "the only one who loved him as much as his wife and his kids," and that she has written personal letters to him. The book also reports that Harp was among a small group of aides who accompanied Trump on a military plane departing Turkey after the president left Air Force One amid an alleged Iranian threat, while other officials remained on the presidential aircraft.
