Abrams' Agent Reports Player Uncomfortable with Potential Move to Second Base
C. J. Abrams' representative said the All-Star infielder was uneasy about a possible move to second base, while the Washington Nationals planned a gradual transition at shortstop as Nasim Nunez assumed that role.
The Nationals announced that Abrams would be shifted to second base to improve the team’s defense, keeping him available at shortstop occasionally. Manager Blake Butera later said the transition would occur over the final six weeks of the season, and Abrams himself expressed disappointment with the change but affirmed his focus on helping the Nationals win.
